SPECTACULAR FUR NIGHTCLUB EVENT LAUNCHES NEW ISSUE OF TWO MUNDOS MAGAZINE, THE FIRST AND ONLY BILINGUAL, INDEPENDENLY OWNED HIGH-END GLOSSY MAGAZINE IN WASHINGTON, D.C. Several thousand people packed Fur Nightclub Friday for a night of fashion and music to celebrate the release of Two Mundos Magazine's latest issue. Two Mundos Magazine, the only all bilingual, minority owned and independently operated high-end glossy lifestyle magazine for the Washington, D.C. area proudly launched its third issue -- "The Fashion Issue" -- featuring exciting and diverse fashion trends from throughout the world, including articles on fashion weeks in Moscow and Miami and the latest looks from Peru. Over 3,000 guests gathered to see the Two Mundos extravaganza hosted by the magazine, Michael Romeo, owner of Fur Nightclub, and Masoud A. of Masoud A. Productions. The night kicked-off with a Two Mundos Fashion Show exclusively featuring the Levi’s clothing line and ten models provided by Liton International Modeling. Hair for the fashion show was done by McLean, Va., business owner Jean Paul Achour and staff from Dolce Vita Salon and Maritza Schuett, and make-up was provided by Ashley von Mettenheim of Easel Hair Studio of Georgetown. During the fashion show, D.C.’s own local singer Taleen gave a riveting 30-minute live performance, showcasing pop and r&b tunes in English and Spanish. Two Mundos also teamed with Levi’s for interactive promotions during the event and Levi's is currently offering a 20% to 30% discount at its Tyson’s Corner store for any customer who mentions the magazine. The event's largest promotional contributor was world-renowned watchmaker Tourneau, which provided Two Mundos with thousands of dollars in promotional gifts and lent magazine publisher Marcelo Rocabado a $3,000 Classic Tourneau watch (also featured on the back of the magazine) to display around the club to showcase the “best of bilingual lifestyle.” Other high-profile business owners and representatives attended the event, including personnel from Tourneau, Theodore’s, Café Citron, Red Ginger, AV Automotive Group, the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Latin Media, Georgetown Optician & Pen Company and Diza Lenda Brazilian Fashion. In addition, high-profile businesses from New York and Florida, as well as prominent media, advertising, talent and entertainment agencies attended to show support for Two Mundos' efforts to produce a genuine, hip and cosmopolitan magazine that caters to both the English and Spanish-speaking market. Although several other high-end magazines are set to make their marks in D.C. this spring and in the fall, Two Mundos Magazine was first on the scene with its D.C. launch this week and a successful earlier launch of the same issue in Miami. The magazine released 10,000 copies in Miami and received an enormous response from high-profile businesses and media in the South Florida area. This week, a full distribution of 15,000 copies will take place in the D.C. metro area along with a continuing marketing campaign with the media and key business owners. The magazine also plans to broadcast the third issue release party on www.twomundos.com later this month and will conduct online interactive campaigns with clients. “We were thrilled to hold such a prestigious event at Fur Nightclub this past Friday,” Marcelo Rocabado, publisher of the magazine, said. “We want to show D.C. that now there is a hip, urban and cosmopolitan magazine out there that will help this community break free from its conservative, politically-obsessed stereotype. We are truly committed to this community. We're not some big corporate buck-making scheme or some millionaire's hobby-project. We're independent, real and want to include everybody.” Two Mundos is a high-end glossy magazine, 9x11 with a thick cover stock that visually appeals to readers with the latest urban and trend-setting designs seen in other cosmopolitan magazines in Miami and New York City. Articles are written in English and Spanish and present unique, critical and entertaining issues on lifestyle, arts & entertainment, news & features and fashion & trends. D.C. and Miami readers enjoy the best of both cities with in-depth sections on gourmet dining, drinks, cigars, travel, automotive, home design, luxury living, technology, sports, fashion, jewelry, real estate, business, health & beauty, art, nightlife, entertainment, society, sports, personal interviews and other exciting issues. The fashion issue focuses on the latest looks from Miami, Hawaii, Russia, Peru and even includes an exclusive D.C. photo shoot at Ligne Roset of Georgetown titled, “D.C. Breaks Free.” The magazine currently has no direct competitor in the D.C. area. It is expected to compete on the English side with upcoming magazines planning to launch this spring. However, Two Mundos Magazine carries a unique concept that no other magazine has been able to approach in the D.C. area and will continue to steam ahead with innovative concepts for both D.C. and Miami. The magazine is owned by Enerdesigns Media Group, Inc., a full-service advertising agency with operations in the Washington, D.C., and the Miami, Fla., areas. The group plans to launch a trendy English-language newspaper called DC Flavor for hip Washingtonians this summer. The group also owns 2MUN2 Productions, a special events company that effective March 25th will promote international nights at Paper Moon every Friday in Georgetown. The magazine's publishers are available for interviews or questions. Please contact Jeanette Dove at 301-277-1067 or at jdove@enerdesigns.com. Think Bilingual, Think Two Mundos.™ |
