IN TWO MUNDOS, MONEY TALKS IN TWO LANGUAGES” - TWO MUNDOS MAGAZINE GETS FEATURED IN THE WASHINGTON POST, CREATING A BUZZ IN D.C. FROM INTERVIEWS IN NEWSPAPERS AND TELEVISION PROGRAMS TO PUBLIC APPEARANCES AT TRENDY LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE CITY. The latest buzz in the D.C. metro area has been focused on the third issue release of D.C.’s only high-end urban and bilingual magazine in English and Spanish format, Two Mundos Magazine. On Tuesday, April 12th, the Style section of The Washington Post featured an article on the magazine (“In Two Mundos, Money Talks in Two Languages” - By Lonnae O'Neal Parker, Page C08) covering the start of the magazine two years ago all the way to the grand release of their “Fashion Issue” in mid-March. The article can be read at: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A45338-2005Apr11.html. “We are very honored that one of the nation’s most influential newspapers [The Washington Post] has recognized our time, value and unique concept to have covered us in such a positive and riveting manner,” says Jeanette Dove, publisher of the magazine. According to The Washington Post, “‘the whole climate is ready’ for a Two Mundos-type magazine,” allowing both publishers, Dove and partner, Marcelo Rocabado to fully tap into the bilingual scene. It has been exactly one month since the magazine released its “Fashion Issue – 003” to a crowd of several thousand people at Fur Nightclub, featuring a Two Mundos fashion show with Levi’s, Liton International Models, Dolce Vita Salon and Easel Hair Studio (make-up only) as well as a live musical performance by local singer Taleen. Since the release of the magazine in both Miami and D.C., people have not been able to take their eyes off the issue. The redesigned issue has led the magazine to handle interactive promotions with the Levi’s stores in Tyson’s Corner, VA and South Beach, FL as well as with world-renowned watchmaker Tourneau. Aside from being featured this week in The Washington Post, the magazine has also been interviewed by Tiempos del Mundo (owned by The Washington Times), La Mega radio station and by F@cetas, a local Spanish lifestyle show on Telemundo, which will air a segment on the magazine this Sunday at 6:00 p.m. (EST). The Washington Post Express (a daily publication owned and operated by The Washington Post) is currently in the process of writing a story on Two Mundos while other Spanish media companies are in the works of setting up interviews. Two Mundos is a high-end glossy magazine that visually appeals to readers with the latest urban and trend-setting designs seen in other cosmopolitan magazines in Miami and New York City. Articles are written in English and Spanish and present unique, critical and entertaining issues on lifestyle, arts & entertainment, news & features and fashion & trends. D.C. and Miami readers enjoy the best of both cities with in-depth sections on gourmet dining, drinks, cigars, travel, automotive, home design, luxury living, technology, sports, fashion, jewelry, real estate, business, health & beauty, art, nightlife, entertainment, society, sports, personal interviews and other exciting issues. The fashion issue focuses on the latest looks from Miami, Hawaii, Russia, Peru and even includes an exclusive D.C. photo shoot at Ligne Roset of Georgetown titled, “D.C. Breaks Free.” The third issue has already been distributed in South Florida, Washington, D.C. and parts of Maryland and Virginia with 25,000 copies and has made local promotional appearances at places such as Café Citron, Paper Moon – Georgetown on Fridays, Fur Nightclub, Diva Nightclub, Levi’s of Tyson’s Corner and other locations. The editors are currently working on the fourth issue which is set to make a mark in South Florida late May and in the D.C. area in June. The magazine is owned by Enerdesigns Media Group, Inc., a full-service advertising agency with operations in the Washington, D.C., and the Miami, Fla., areas. This week, the company signs an association with Tamarindo News, a Spanish newspaper in D.C., Maryland and Virginia set to expand in six weeks to Philadelphia and Atlanta. The group plans to launch a trendy English-language newspaper called DC Flavor for hip Washingtonians this summer. The group also owns 2MUN2 Productions, a special events company currently handling promotions with Paper Moon – Georgetown every Friday and www.mintclubdc.com.
